Jack GRAY (1885-1915?)

John GRAY (known as 'Jack'), son of William John GRAY (1847-1924?) and Mary Ann (1847?-1908?), was born Q2 1885 in Putney, Surrey.¹ He was baptised on 29 April 1886 in Putney. The ceremony was conducted by J. Kay Booker.² On 29 April 1886 he lived in Putney.² The address was: 12 South Place, Putney, Surrey. On 5 April 1891 he was a Scholar.³ He appeared in the census on 5 April 1891 in Putney aged 6.³ The address was: 2 Sadler's Buildings, Lower Common, Putney, Surrey. On 31 March 1901 he was an Engine Boy (Road).⁴ He appeared in the census on 31 March 1901 in Putney, London aged 16.⁴ The address was: 2 Stewarts Cottages, Lower Common, Putney, London. He married Emma Elizabeth GUY on 3 January 1911 in Putney.^5,6 He appeared in the census on 2 April 1911 in Putney aged 26.⁷ The address was: 3 Glendarvon Street, Putney, London. On 2 April 1911 he was a House Painter.⁷ Industry or Service with which worker is connected: Builder. Jack died on 25 November 1915 (estimated) aged 31.⁸ He fell off a ladder at work and fractured his skull. Jack was buried on 2 December 1915 in Putney.⁹
