Benjamin CHANDLER (1860-1931)

Benjamin CHANDLER,¹ son of Joseph CHANDLER (1820?-1868) and Elizabeth KNIGHT (1819?-1876), was born on 22 July 1860 in Buckland, Surrey.^2,3 On 4 August 1860 he lived in Buckland.² He was baptised on 2 September 1860 in Buckland. The ceremony was conducted by W.F. Hotham.⁴ On 2 September 1860 he lived in Buckland.⁴ He appeared in the census on 7 April 1861 in Buckland aged 8 months.¹ The address was: "Red Lion", Whitehall, Buckland, Surrey. He appeared in the census on 2 April 1871 in Buckland aged 10.⁵ The address was: "Red Lion", Whitehall, Buckland, Surrey. On 2 April 1871 he was a Scholar.⁵ He appeared in the census on 3 April 1881 in Andover, Hampshire aged 20.⁶ The address was: 12 Chantry Street, Andover, Hampshire. On 3 April 1881 he was a Brewer.⁶ He married Agnes Ada NUTLEY Q3 1885 in Andover.⁷ He appeared in the census on 5 April 1891 in Andover aged 30.⁸ The address was: 5 Rufus Villas, Andover, Hampshire. On 5 April 1891 he was a Brewers Manager.⁸ He appeared in the census on 31 March 1901 in Frensham, Surrey aged 40.⁹ The address was: Royal Huts Hotel, Hindhead, Surrey. On 31 March 1901 he was a Hotel Proprietor.⁹ He appeared in the census on 2 April 1911 in Frensham aged 50.¹⁰ The address was: Royal Huts Hotel, Hindhead, Surrey. On 2 April 1911 he was a Hotel Proprietor.¹⁰ To 30 November 1931 he lived in Churt, Surrey.^11,12 The address was: Fire Cone Cottage, Churt, Surrey. He died on 30 November 1931 in Brookwood, Surrey aged 71.^11,12,13 The address was: Surrey County Mental Hospital, Brookwood, Surrey. He was buried on 4 December 1931 in Grayshott, Hampshire aged 71. The minister at the burial was E.
