John James WHITING, son of Henry WHITING (1787-1864) and Ann BUCKNER (1794?-1849?), was born in September 1827 (estimated) in Roehampton, Surrey.¹ He was baptised on 14 October 1827 in Putney, Surrey.¹ On 14 October 1827 he lived in Roehampton.¹ He appeared in the census on 6 June 1841 in Putney aged 13.² The address was: Lower Common, Putney, Surrey. He married Ann Thompson CHATT on 29 July 1854 in Ealing, Middlesex.
